Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Tulia Rubero is a licensed chiropractor and board certified chiropractic acupuncturist. She received her training at National University of Health Sciences and is also pursuing a Master of Science in acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She uses her firm foundation in anatomy and biomechanics to find and correct patients' musculoskeletal imbalances. She has completed the Institute of Functional Medicine’s Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice program, and is excited to bring a functional medicine approach to Blue Island Traditional Medicine.
Dr. Tulia is also a doula and lactation counselor, focusing primarily on postpartum care. Her chiropractic and acupuncture training come together to offer safe, minimally invasive care to pregnant and postpartum individuals, as well as the general population. She believes in the body’s ability to heal itself and hopes humbly to serve as a facilitator for that healing process.
Licensed acupuncturist & herbalist
Samara Reigh has her Master's of Science in Chinese Medicine and is a doctoral candidate in integrative healthcare at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Samara is currently serving on the board of the state professional organization, the Illinois Society of Acupuncturists (ILSA).
In addition to her formal education, Samara has studied plant medicine in the Amazon rain forest and the Sangre de Cristo mountains, learning from traditional healers and herbalists how to align ourselves with the natural world in order to heal our bodies and our surroundings.
Samara specializes in women's health, fertility, and the treatment of mood and GI disorders.
Licensed Massage Therapist
Jennifer Stewart-Laudat is a lifelong student of the human form. At The Soma Institute, she acquired a knowledge base that includes myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, and soft tissue manipulation. On the Caribbean Island of Dominica, she studied how the crucial time from conception to weaning affects a child’s subsequent growth and development. In her time living in the rainforest there, she learned traditional ways of living and natural curative methods. Jennifer approaches musculoskeletal therapy as a way to facilitate healing of the body and repairing of the body-mind-spirit connection.
Licensed massage therapist
Beatrice Scescke has been studying and practicing healing arts for over a decade, blending clinical massage, Thai bodywork, and yoga therapy. She specializes in treating musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction through myofascial trigger point therapy. Her treatment strategies draw from the classic works of Dr. Janet Travell and Dr. David Simons, and are informed by her in-depth studies at the MyoPain Center.
Her body-based practice centers around celebrating our physical reality, accepting people as they are, and appreciating our own sweet, palpable humanness.
